Tuesday Catshow

Copernicus is like every cat. Lasers are intriguing to them. But I never saw this coming until last night. We usually play laser with them. And just run the laser up and down the floor and in circles, but when I began to go back and forth with the laser THAT quickly, the moment became clear, VIDEO NOW!

We love calling him stupid or stups sometimes because the fact is, he’s too cute to be stupid! Doesn’t make sense, but that’s our buddy guy!

Enjoy!

You say Hacky Sack, I say “Hacky Sad”

We were enjoying a round of cornhole. Somebody brought out a hacky sack with them. I love to play and have enjoyed it since high school.

Just watch this awful attempt at hacky sack with my group of friends. We were laughing very hard at our feeble attempt to complete one hacky. At least we worked out our abs like Labs with Abs dog. Pretty funny? Pretty sad man, just sad…

Leaders of the New School

leave a comment »

Remember them? Who’s that? Brooooooown!  This entry is not really about them.  However, it is about people out there creating something that does have a momentous impact on the way something is viewed.

For instance, and really quickly, looking at those Leaders of the New School (I know it’s not about them) and the way they bring fashion and music together.   East Coast hip-hop really felt distinct and had a very palpable characteristic that was truly recognizable.   Of course we all bought into it.  Look at the video below.  Come’on!

If not these guys, at least their sensibilities bled into other aspects of reality and created this niche in music that seemed to spark a greater trend that was going far beyond just music.

Look at these two video below.  This guy demonstrates such an innovative and fresh take on dubstep and creates a collision of appeal with everything he’s doing and wearing.  It’s even crazier as he gets into his routine.  That flip?!!! Swag! A bit of vogue (Madonna would be proud) and some interesting, almost tribal/ethnic/cultural expressions of dance too.  But this vid is just one of a series of battle vids that took place at a gym.  The other ones are pretty fresh.

This generation of young and fresh views on fashion, music, dance, and Pop culture really has turned most of what the 80s-90s generation of kids knew into uncool, breakable, and rigid forms of expression.

The video below, particularly, transcends how we look at battle from previous generations.  It’s more playful with clowning and miming, definitely an energetic routine here.

Perhaps even better would be that this generation has melted and stripped away the unecessary appeal of “cool” and general need for Pop Culture affirmation and galvanized their own mixture of branding, expression, self confidence, and fluidity by displaying their ambivalence to acceptance from what their predecessors did back then…it’s an unabashed and unapologetic movement for sure. It’s an adaptive youth movement—one that will have it’s place as leaders of the new school.

I HAVE TO include this final battle vid.  These two truly bring battle to another level as they clown each other, spin, and dip…their styles are similar, but almost juxtaposing: hoodie (OBEY) vs tshirt, pants vs shorts…hella fresh stuff.  And those ankles?  Must be sore the next day.  Maybe not though, since they’re the youth of tomorrow.

Cobra Cat: Viral Video Response

leave a comment »

Watching viral videos is not enough anymore. We, sharers of videos to friends who haven’t seen specific ones, take pride in our own sensibilities to share funny, grotesque, poignant, motivating, tragic moments. We hope that when we share the ones we like, others will respond similarly to them as well.

Well, here with a great moment of sharing/responding, Cobra Cat viral video is displayed for friends to watch. The video, if you haven’t seen it yet, is an odd/suspenseful moment where two opposing cats are extremely curious and territorial. One cat creeps in slowly to the other, more stationary cat…when all of the sudden, COBRA CAT appears! Click here to watch the very condensed moment!

One caveat to this story is that we watched this following a football victory. Probably wouldn’t have been received with quite the same jovial insanity if the local team would have lost (e.g. 49ers won, Steelers didn’t).

Cobra Cat is one of those “wait for it moments” viral videos and the response to it below is the same. You have to just wait for it to happen and #BOOM laughter ensues!

Borderlands 2 Demo

leave a comment »

If there’s a world that I want to completely wrap my mind around and become completely lost in, Borderlands can provide that spectrum of escapism for me. Now with the new installment, Number 2, coming into the picture in 2012, we (Borderland fanboys and fangirls) can’t rage hard enough to provide the equal power that this game will have. Sure we fell in love with the million plus gun iterations on the market. Sure we loved to become one of four different types of players to roam freely and spread our proverbial wings over. Sure the multi-player and co-op modes were great entertainment…and sure, having 40-plus options of weapons at any time kicked major Clap-trap buckets!

Now, imagine all those those things you loved about Borderlands being taken away. Hang on. In place of that space, Gearbox developers are trying to one-up themselves on a level that seems unimaginable for this forthcoming title. The old adage of “if it broke…” was completely ignored. These guys behind the scene are going to create some thing bigger and badder. What we know of Pandora will grow exponentially in all phases. And with the additional of four new playable characters, like the Gunzerker: Salvador, and a new set of rules gun creating will have, this will be another explosive game that will be highly anticipated for 2012 (Mass Effect 3).

Some bullet points of interest for B2:
-Pandora will be epically more vivid and playable (expansive to say the least)
-levels will be 100% better and longer
-4 new vehicles
-new element “Eridian” will enhance damages
-a variety of options for each players class skill tree
-AI will be more aggressive (should raise the bar for considerably)
-distinctly different characteristics of each gun manufacturer (color, look, custom insignia, power, strength)
-finally, 4 NEW CHARACTERS (Salvador and 3 yet to be mentioned characters)

But for now, just check out the awesome demo above and begin to salivate and pine…Hazah!

Brut Strength In Slow Motion

leave a comment »

This man, who is 6′ 6″ tall, crushed this 15 lb tree branch in two parts. Right before that, he said he was going to eat some spinach from a can. I was a bit confused, but then seeing this in slow motion, I accept that nutritious foods could come from cans marked “Spinach: Superfood”.

Watch the awesome power of this giant.

Birds Make Pretty

leave a comment »

Putting birds on things make everything look cooler. For instance, this Pandora skin makes the user’s interface with music much more enjoyable—bonus for adding Christopher Cross onto the playlist, right?

In this Portlandia skit, viewers get a glimpse into the magic world of birds and how affective the notion of bird images can be when done to the MAX (caps letter for emphasis). Birds, birds, birds!!! Fly away with a bird on your shirt, tote bag, back pant pocket, or even…Pandora!
